Arman Peshtmaljyan is a multi-award-winning composer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, and music producer. By blending folk, jazz, and contemporary sounds, he introduces a unique approach to Armenian and world music. He has created music for leading Armenian bands, composed award-winning works, performed on prestigious stages and festivals worldwide.
His jazz compositions redefine Armenian jazz with a modern edge, while his project of reviving forgotten Armenian folk songs has reached cultural heights, earning international acclaim and awards.
Arman Peshtmaljyan has performed his music on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and festivals, including the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, UN WEEK-END À L’EST in Paris, the Caucasus Cultural Festival in Seoul. He has also played on iconic stages such as Basel Jazz Campus in Switzerland, Royce Hall (UCLA), The Ford-John Anson Ford Theatre in LA, Millennium Stage (Kennedy Center), Palacio Libertad in Buenos Aires, Sala Zitarrosa in Montevideo, Mazā Ģilde in Riga.
Arman had music workshops at institutions like Basel Academy of Music, the University of New Mexico, UCLA. Participated in the Center Stage program & Found Sound Nation’s Sound Bridge program.
Arman Peshtmaljyan plays in the Armenian State Jazz Orchestra, the leading folk band Armenian Navy Band, Yerevan Calling, and Zestengusto. He is also the composer, arranger and member of MVF and Goght Bands, shaping their unique sound. With over 250 original and collaborative works, he continues to shape an innovative style in Armenian music.
